Course Goals:

This course will prepare you to:
Describe the portal runtime architecture and major components involved in the request/response cycle.
Develop basic portal applications (components) and deploy them to a portal.
Develop components that utilize the HTMLB UI library.
Develop components which use the Model View Controller (MVC) approach. JSP pages and Java beans are used to demonstrate the techniques.
Debug portal applications using the NetWeaver Developer Studio debugger
Deploy portal components on NW04 portal installations.
Develop WebDynpro applications which utilize portal services.
Integrate WebAS 6.40 applications using SSO.
Develop portal applications which utilize the client side eventing framework (EPCF) to communicate with other iViews.
Develop components that utilize the JCA based connector framework (CF) to access data from various backend systems include SAP R/3 and relational databases.
Utilize the user management API (UME 4.0) to access information about users at runtime and modify user info such as role assignment programmatically.
Develop portal applications which are localized to various languages using the localization features of NW04.
Improve the performance of portal applications by utilizing features such as connection pooling and data caching.
Use Web services integration. .
